How ONLINE Education Works

Academic Year

The academic year consists of 2 semesters, each divided into periods. There are 7 study periods in total.

Each period lasts 5 weeks, followed by a week-long break. The exception is the winter break between semesters, which lasts 2 weeks.

The final grade is the arithmetic average of the semester grades, which in turn consist of the average of the final grades for each period.

Socialization

Students stay in close contact with each other every day.

Teachers and administration regularly hold interactive games (like Mafia, quizzes, etc.). As part of career guidance, students have meetings with people from various countries and fields who share their professional pexperiences and talk about life in their countries.

Schedule

Lessons are conducted on the Zoom platform in real-time, where the teacher and students join the lessons according to the schedule.

Classes start every day at 9:00 AM Polish time, and each lesson lasts 45 minutes, followed by a 15-minute break.

The school week consists of 5 days, with an average of 5 lessons per day.

How HOMESCHOOL Education Works

Choosing a Program

We recommend studying according to the Cambridge High School program. However, this format allows you to choose any curriculum that fits your child’s needs.

Keep in mind that twice a year, students must take certification tests in accordance with the educational standard* that we provide.

The educational standard is a brief guide outlining what the student should know, be able to do, and master by the end of the school year.

Assessment

Assessments take place twice a year — in December and May.

12th graders only take one assessment — in December. In May, they begin their final exams: mathematics, English, and two subjects of the student's choice.

The assessment is conducted online via the Moodle educational platform over a 2-week period for all studied subjects and does not require physical presence.

School Assistance

If necessary, you can get personalized consultations from teachers on specific subjects of your choice. Additional hours and grades will be added to the official transcript.

Each semester, the administrator holds a parent meeting where you can ask questions and receive help.

The school also allows for retaking assessments if necessary.

Important to Know:

Admission Process

The admission process is the same for any program. Initially, you must pass an entrance test with a score of 60% or higher. After that, you need to pay an entrance fee of 100 euros, sign the agreement, and send electronic copies of previous school records and the birth certificate.

Entrance Test

This test is taken online in Zoom and covers the main subjects (mathematics, Russian, English, science). It is designed to last 1-2 hours, with each subject containing 5-7 questions from the previous school year. The test helps accurately determine the grade and program for new students. A minimum score of 60% is required for admission.

Trial Days

When enrolling in the online format, you can experience being a student at Cambridge High School for 2 free trial days. This gives you a chance to attend lessons, meet teachers, and classmates, and decide if our school is the right fit for your child.
